SCHILLIGER HOLZ AG REALISES A PRODUCTION PLANT FOR FIBRE INSULATION BOARDS MADE OF SWISS WOOD

There has been no insulation board production in Switzerland for some time. This has created a large gap in the Swiss wood processing chain. Schilliger Holz AG is therefore building a production plant for wood fibre insulation boards on the Fänn industrial site near Küssnacht am Rigi. A factory building with a maximum height of almost 40 metres will be erected on a floor area of 6,000 m2. In order to ensure optimal utilisation, the production of the insulation boards will be distributed over two floors. In addition, there will be a high-bay warehouse. The non-reflective façade will be kept in an unobtrusive anthracite and will blend in perfectly with the ensemble of surrounding factory buildings. The production plant for wood fibre insulation boards will be completed by a wood-fired power plant.

This will make it possible to once again offer fibre insulation boards made of Swiss wood under the “Lignatherm” product label. This will add an important element to the wide range of Schilliger wood products and the comprehensive customer service. A total of around 50,000 tonnes of wood chips are processed annually into wood fibre insulation boards.

The project is currently in the construction phase. Commissioning is scheduled for summer 2025. Schilliger Holz AG is pleased to be able to respond to the growing demand for wood fibre insulation boards in Switzerland and abroad with this new product line and to make a further contribution to the expansion of the Swiss wood chain.
